This listing is to make up a desktop from our kiln dried character oak slab as in the first few photos to look similar to the other examples of desk and tabletops that we have recently made.

These are well seasoned kiln dried French oak with a moisture content of around 9%.

The dimensions of this waney edge desktop are as follows;

This waney edge oak slab desktop will be 2.4m long.

This slab will be left full width with both waney edges on.

This oak slab Desktop will be fitted with up to 10 walnut and maple bowties in a pre-agreed position

This oak slab will finish off at around 30 to  35 mm thick, we will always endeavour to leave these oak slabs as thick as possible to keep the natural look of the oak slab,  at this length, the top surface may not be 100% plumb flat but these will be at about 90 % flat.

This oak slab desktop will be posted out unfinished and will be treated for woodwork before we deliver this to your home.

All you will need to do is apply a finish onto the oak and add legs. We recommend applying at least 3 coats of a finish onto these slabs, depending upon what you are using these may need more. We always recommend to not place any natural wide board oak directly near or close to a heat source or in wet areas.

Please note all timbers that I sell may have knots, shakes, saw marks, watermarks, cracks, bows, maybe cupped, and could have a small amount of woodworm. We always try to describe our timber to the best of our knowledge.

If you are local to Faversham then we would recommend that visit us to handpick the exact oak slab that will be used to create your finished piece of waney edge furniture.
